Company History

Originally started in 2005 as a series of prototype projects and small research and development contracts using a basic set of machine shop equipment, some of our early projects included mechanical water level encoders, an aerosol dispersal system, and one of the first motion-activated trail cameras.

Alaric Electromechanics Inc. was officially formed as an Oregon S-Corporation in 2012, with a goal of focusing on the need for a new generation of modular and cost-effective air quality monitoring equipment for underserved market niches. This has evolved into now supplying products to over 30 countries, dozens of universities, and multiple other instrument manufacturers, with particular success in developing countries.

A Mission of Excellence

Alaric ElectroMechanics Inc. currently designs, prototypes, manufactures, and distributes mechanical and electromechanical instruments and devices, specializing in air sampling and monitoring and remote deployment equipment. Our designs incorporate innovative features, and a high standard for efficient form-factors, cost reduction, and intuitive operation. We demand excellence from ourselves, and it shows in our products.

For optimal quality and traceability, we use as many American-made parts and materials as possible. In cases where specific items must be obtained from other countries, we source products from companies with a reputation for high quality, such as Swiss motors, German filter materials, and Japanese bearings. We operate under a comprehensive ISO-9001-compliant quality management system.

Experience

Dennis Hart has over 25 years of experience in electronics, mechanical engineering, research and development, product management, and business development. He was formerly an engineer and product manager for the ambient air monitoring product line at Met One Instruments, Inc. As an expert in beta attenuation particulate monitoring, he redesigned the mechanical and detection systems in the BAM 1020 particulate monitor for improved stability and accuracy, resulting in the very first EPA PM2.5 FEM instrument designation. He also managed engineering team projects to develop and improve many other instruments.

In 2012, Dennis co-founded Alaric Electromechanics Inc. to focus on OEM system integration devices to serve the emerging market for low-cost particulate sensors and modular air sampling systems. He currently manages executive business development, engineering and product development, and manufacturing for the company. He also handles technical sales, and serves as the public face of the company at trade shows and conferences.
