OEM Original Equipment Manufacturer arrangements in which we manufacture products for other companies, universities, and organizations around the world have become a large part of our business. This includes:

Supplying our standard production air monitoring items with or without custom brand markings, often with special discounts for high quantities or blanket orders.
Supplying customized or modified versions of our existing standard air monitoring items.
Completely custom-designed and custom-manufactured items, in either low or high quantities.
Contract manufacturing of proprietary air inlets, instrument sub-system parts, and turn-key assemblies for other instrument companies.
Contract mechanical design and prototyping projects, with or without production manufacturing.

We specialize in environmental air sampling inlets, scientific instrument modules, test fixtures, motion control systems, airflow control systems, outdoor enclosures, and small solar power systems. Our shop can produce CNC machined parts, formed sheet metal parts, weldments, 3D printed parts, and electrical controls. We have an extensive network of local and regional shops for specialty processes such as laser cutting, anodizing, metal spinning, powder coating, and more. We don’t outsource engineering or manufacturing to Asia.

Electropolishing

Electropolishing is an electrochemical process that removes a microscopic layer of metal from the part surface, leaving a brightly polished and deburred finish. It also removes surface contaminants and passivates stainless steel for added corrosion resistance. The process is capable of polishing delicate or irregularly shaped parts that would be difficult or impossible to polish manually.

Electropolishing services are available at our facility in southern Oregon. We have a production 50 Amp electropolishing machine with precision temperature control and automatic current cycle timing. Our setup is ideal for small prototype batches and medium volume production runs of parts up to about 16 inches long, and is optimized for stainless steel, with capability for some alloys of aluminum, brass, and copper. There is no minimum parts quantity, but there is a base tank setup charge.

Laser Marking & Custom Product Labeling

Many of our products are available with serialization and custom brand markings for your specific company or organization. Our high-resolution 20 Watt split-fiber industrial etching laser can permanently mark text or logos directly onto steel, brass, anodized aluminum, and even some plastics. We can mark on flat surfaces or cylindrical surfaces with a rotary axis.

3D Printing

We have a lot of experience designing parts that are optimized for in-house or outsourced 3D printing, using multiple processes and materials. This is often an excellent option for rapid prototype parts, evaluation units, and test fixtures. Shortening the overall product design cycle with 3D printing has made it a big part of our process. There are many benefits to additive manufacturing, but also some important limitations that must be understood to get good results. We design parts using SolidWorks 3D CAD software, then process the solid models through customized slicing or G code software as needed depending on the process.
