Description

Louvered EPA Pattern PM₁₀ Inlet for air sampling. Alaric Model PM₁₀L is a modern production of the standardized EPA pattern PM₁₀ inlet, as specified in US federal regulations. It is suitable for use on 16.7 L/min PM₁₀ particulate samplers with standard 1.25 inch diameter inlet stacks, and also for use as a pre-separator above the cyclone or WINS impactor on PM_2.5 samplers or continuous monitors. Water, debris, and airborne particles larger than 10 microns in size are trapped in the internal impactor, while the smaller particles pass through the inlet to the sampling instrument or subsequent separator stages.

Our model PM₁₀L inlets meet or exceed all EPA 10-Micron Inlet drawings and specifications. The design has been tested and characterized for cut point, airflow, wind, and water exclusion characteristics for many years. Our 100% USA-made inlets are an excellent choice to replace older damaged inlets, and for OEM use by other particulate instrument manufacturers. A full range of replacement parts are available. Model PM₁₀L inlets include several unique upgrade features for superior reliability and serviceability:

• Knurled bands on the body at the particle trap joint facilitate easier opening in wet or cold conditions, or when wearing gloves.
• Dual o-ring seals in the particle trap joint for extra reliability.
• Extended thumb screws in the bottom of the plate stack facilitate easy disassembly of the upper section for cleaning. Stainless steel standoffs in the upper plate stack eliminate corrosion problems common in older inlets.
• Improved bottom socket outside profile reduces weight and includes a set screw to secure the inlet and reduce vibration in windy locations. Standard 1.250 inch diameter socket. Adapters for other inlet tube diameters are available.
• Laser etched identification markings and serial numbers.
• Classic glass jar type external water collectors are standard. Optional shatter-resistant UV stable acrylic water collectors are available.
