Description
The WINS Impactor (Well Impactor Ninety-Six) is the classic EPA specified 16.7 L/min “Particle Size Separator” or “2.5-Micron Impactor Assembly” for use in the reference method for measuring PM2.5 particulate matter. The WINS Impactor is positioned below the standard EPA PM10 inlet, which functions as a pre-separator. The sample air is accelerated through a precision jet, where particles larger than 2.5 microns impact a DOS oil infused fiberglass filter and are trapped. The smaller particles pass through to the air sampling instrument.
The WINS Impactor design is fully tested and characterized by the EPA for cut-point characteristics. Although cyclones have replaced the WINS Impactor in many PM2.5 applications, we supply these for applications where compliance with the original PM2.5 standards is required. Our WINS Impactors feature unique knurled bands around the body for better grip when unscrewing the assembly. 1.25 inch diameter inlet and outlet. DOS oil, filters, and spare parts are available.
