Description
Model AE1-1 is a PM1 mini cyclone for use on particulate monitors operating at a 1.0 L/min flow rate. This is our smallest mini cyclone, and is typically used for black carbon monitoring applications. This model is not regularly stocked, and is offered on a custom order basis. The inlet and outlet are aligned along the same axis. Model AE1-1 is 3.7 inches tall and weighs 2.4 oz.
Model AE1-1 is designed to the original Sharp-Cut Cyclone scientific design model and critical dimensions. Airborne particles larger than 1 micron in size are separated by the vortex and are retained in the particle trap cap, while the smaller particles pass through to the sampling instrument. The inlet and outlet socket are standard ½ inch (12.7mm) diameter, and are compatible with our line of ½ inch inlet stack components. We can supply adapters for inlet tubes of different sizes, and for push-to-connect or Swagelok tube fitting. Note: Cyclones are not intended to serve as the primary air entry point. A rain cap or TSP inlet such as our models 10085 or 10400 must be used on top of the cyclone to prevent water and large debris from entering.
