Description

Simple Stack is a fully user-customizable tripod-mounted manual air sampling inlet system, for applications where both maximum configurability and minimum cost are needed. Each component in the system can be obtained together or separately, and can be mixed and matched into endless configurations to suit your budget and current sampling needs. The basis of the system is a machined aluminum tripod mount that fits onto a standard and inexpensive 1 3/8 inch (35mm) diameter speaker tripod. The other end of the mount holds a short inlet tube with a standard 1.25 inch diameter socket and tenon. The top of the inlet tube can be fitted with any combination of our EPA pattern PM₁₀ inlet, TSP inlet, PM_2.5 cyclones, WINS Impactor, or air sampling inlets from other manufacturers. The bottom of the inlet tube can be fitted with our model 10150 modular 47mm filter cassette holder in various configurations, such as optional denuder stages and outlet fittings. A solar shield plate on the tripod mount shades the 47mm filter cassette holder and keeps the sample filter temperature near ambient conditions, similar to the PM_2.5 reference method.

An optional valve on the bottom of the filter holder can be used to set the flow rate, and the user can supply their own vacuum pump and monitor ambient temperature and pressure during sampling. The base kit includes the 10310 tripod adapter mount with a 10314 solar shield plate, a 10106 6.5 inch inlet tube, A 10150 modular filter cassette holder assembly with hose barb outlet, and one FC47NC 47mm filter cassette. The tripod, PM₁₀ Inlet, and any required cyclones are sold separately. Vacuum pumps and flow control valves are also available separately.
